Qibla is the direction of the Kaaba in Makkah toward which Muslims face during Salah (prayer). It is the most sacred direction in Islam, uniting Muslims worldwide in worship. The Kaaba, located within the Grand Mosque (Masjid al-Haram), was built by Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) and his son Ismail (Ishmael) as the first house of worship dedicated to the One God.
The Qibla direction varies depending on your location on Earth. Our calculator uses your GPS coordinates and the precise location of the Kaaba (21.4225° N, 39.8262° E) to determine the accurate direction from your position. The compass then helps you physically orient yourself toward the Holy Kaaba.
